Before customizing, you may want to listen the sounds you are using. You can listen to the sounds listed in your Destination List, as well as preview the sounds in your Source Files List with just the click of a button or a simple keyboard command.
-Destination Sounds
To listen to the sounds inside of your Destination File, simply select
a sound within the list and click on the "Play" button located on the
bottom-left side of the Destination List. The keyboard command
for playing the selected sound in the Destination List is the
Spacebar. You may also double-click a sound to play it, providing
you have this option set in your preferences. (For more
information see the chapter on setting preferences.)
-Source Files
To preview the sounds displayed in the Source Files List, simply select
the sound you want to hear and click the "Play" button located on the
bottom-right side of the Source Files List. The keyboard command for
playing the selected sound in the Source Files List is Shift-Spacebar.
You may also double-click a sound to play it, providing you have this
option set in your preferences. (For more information see the chapter
on setting preferences.)
Getting Sound Info
Each sound resource contains a unique identification number called a "Resource Number." Most sounds have a "Resource Name" as well to help identify the sounds. This information, at least the Resource Number, is what a program uses to specify which sound to play and when. You can access this information, as well as the sound resources directory path.
To get a sound's resource information, simply select the sound
and click on the "Get Sound Info" button. If the sound you want
info on is in the Destination File List, click the "Get Sound Info"
button to the left of the Destination File List. If it's for a sound in
the Source Files List, click the button to the right of the Source
Files List.
Getting resource information on a sound in the Destination File List will display the
sound's resource name, resource identification number, its file size in bytes, and
its pathname. When finished, click the "OK" button.
Getting resource information on a sound in the Source File List brings up this window. This window displays the sound's name, ID number, size, and path.
The "Pro" version of Agent Audio, available from Clixsounds enables you to manually
change the sound information for replacement (which is otherwise done for you when replacing), and to prepare to add new sound resources to the Destination File.
